I don't even speak Spanish lol (week 15)

Image
Coming off of thanksgiving break can be rough sometimes. To start the week off Thomas and I are going to start testing our code for the tube challenge. Adrian and Dylan are working on the code for the tetrahedron challenge. As a whole we're catching up on blogs and trying to knock these challenges out of the park.

Re structuring the chassis ( Week 15 )

Image
We are restructuring the robots chassis to get better weight proportion. Because the robot tends to fall forward because all the weight of the hand and everything is more towards the front. We have now added rubber bands to help the robot arm stay up. Lastly, we moved the arm back to steady the robot as a whole We are trying to get it more towards the front ^

Still not done lol (Week 14)

Image
Today we are trying to figure out how to properly program each of our robots. Me and Thomas' robot has to pick up a ball and place it into a tube while Adrian and Dylan's has to complete the tetrahedron challenge. For each team programming the robot and getting it to preform well is our top priorities.

Is not as simple as it seems ( Week 13 )

Image
So we are actually putting or adding small changes to the hand so is properly spaced. Adding little 3D printed pieces to the axel so it doesn't shift to one side. So it doesn't shift away from the motor. This way the claw motor can spin with more freedom allowing it to pick up the racket balls.

Finishing up the ball challenge ( week 13 )

Image
So right now Thomas is putting an axel on the robots hand to make it rotate properly. We have come close enough we already finished coding and we are testing out the robot and making the final changes. We still have to figure out or should figure out a better code.

Re- building the arm ( Week 12 )

Image
So right now we are rebuilding our arm because we need a longer arm so the distance that it needs to travel to get to tetrahedron is shorter. We have had to make many adjustments since this is our groups first year and we weren't used to blogging every week and making a robot wasn't as simple because we need to balance all the wait correctly and code it right. Here is the arm:

Testing The New Arm (Week 12)

Image
The other day we rebuilt the arm to make it longer so that it would be easier to reach the top hook for the triangles. Today we tested the arm to see if it was long enough, however we needed to make it a little smaller because it was too long and did not fit the correct standards for length. We have come to a correct length and have been able to allow us to start the coding.

Making sure everything is OK ( week 11 )

Image
Dylan and I are making sure everything is okay to complete the high caps and flags challenge. Making sure everything is positioned properly and the codes are set up correctly. As well as every battery is charged up.

Dylan and Adrian with their challenge ( week 11 )

Image
Right now Dylan and Adrian are trying to complete their previous challenge ( The scoring high flags and caps one ) from first quarter. We had it almost done and even got close on a couple of our attempts but we couldn't make it. Mr. Martin gave us three chances but the the hand would always drop the arm a couple of centimeters away from where needed to score at.
